In May this year the team of OCEÂNICA, delivered to Petrobras the contracted service OF geotechnical investigation with support from diving in the region of Praia do Minhoto, Guamaré municipality, State of Rio Grande do Norte.

To facilitate the operation and to improve the safety of operations, a support tower to the survey was designed and developed by the Engineering area and manufactured indoors by the professionals of the Equipment Sector. (SEQUIP).

"Prior to commencement of services, there was a training with divers for the assembly and disassembly of the tower in the OCEANICA´s scuba tank in Macaé, with the monitoring of the management professionals of Petrobras IEDS.," Said Ricardo Rangel, Field Engineer responsible for the work activities.

The geotechnical investigation provided samples for laboratory analysis that will characterize the soil of the region, assisting the assessments required to meet the CONAMA 344, wich the National Council on the Environment provides general guidelines and procedures for making assessments of the material being dredged in Brazilian waters among other measures.
